  • 0

This tutorial assumes you already have an existing email account created with us, or you've created your own in your Mail Control Panel.

Now lets learn how to configure Mac Mail with your existing email account using the POP email protocol.

Remember, your username is the mail account's full email address so please replace [email protected] with your full email address.

First, open Mail from the Dock menu.

From the top menu, click Mail... Then click Preferences

Click Accounts... Then click the + button to add a new email account.

Click the Add Other Mail Account option, then click Continue.

Enter the name you want your recipients to see when they receive your messages.

Enter your email address.

Enter the password for your email account, then click Create.

Select the option to manually configure the account and click Next.

This is where you have to define your server settings for your incoming mail.

Choose the POP protocol for the account type.

Enter your Mail Server: mailx.hosts.net.nz

Enter your full email address in the User Name field.

Enter the password for your email account, then click Next.

Make sure you have the correct incoming mail port number entered.

Your incoming port number for the POP protocol should be 995

Choose the SSL encryption method.

Select Password as the Authentication method, then click Next.

This is where you have to define your server settings for your outgoing mail.

Enter your SMTP Server: mailx.hosts.net.nz

Enter your full email address in the User Name field.

Enter the password for your email account, then click Create.

That's it! We've successfully configured Mac Mail to send and receive email using our email account.

This is the end of the tutorial. You now know how to configure Mac Mail with your existing email account using the POP protocol.
