How do I change my spam filter settings? Imprimer

  • 0

First, login to your Mail Control Panel.

Next, click on Manage Accounts.

Click on the account you want to modify spam filter settings from the list.

Click on Advanced Options

Ensure that the Spam filtering on check box is ticked.

The two settings are:

  • Tag messages scored: This score is used to "tag" a message as spam. Messages with a score higher than this, but lower than the refuse score will be delivered into your Inbox, but will be marked as spam.
  • Refuse messages scored: This score is used to refuse a message. Messages with a score higher than this will not be accepted by your mail server.

Setting these values lower will reduce the amount of spam, and raising them may let more spam come through. Leave the "tag" value at 5 and the "refuse" at 10 initially and if the amount of spam received is too high, start lowering these values until you find a value that works for your needs. You can use decimals such as 3.5 or 4.2.

Click Submit to save your changes.
